Expansion joints in cracking applications are exposed to very high temperatures and aggressive media. Therefore, these are pieces that require a lot of engineering and are therefore one of the most difficult types to design and manufacture.

- They must be resistant to corrosion and stress corrosion of the material in operation and during once downtime

- They need to incorporate large movements
- They must combine high pressure resistance with high flexibility.
